I swallowed back my reservations and let Chet go with Matt, his best friend Tyler, and the other boy scouts on a camping trip this weekend. They are canoeing. I have had terrible images going through my head of that tiny little boat flipping him out. They are hiking, and all I can think of is how tired that will make him. It has been raining. I hope the river is calm. I sent him with his dinner last night, a bag full of his vitamins, and a whole bunch of prayers. I am sure they are having a wonderful time. I know he is thrilled to be earning badges. But I suspect my teeth aren't going to unclench until he gets home safe and sound tomorrow.

53,000 surprise
I took Chet in for counts the other day. He has a lot of patichiai and felt like his counts would be low. His red cells (energy) and white cells (immune) ARE lower than normal, but his platelets were at 53,000. They went up while the others went down. Strange. We were happy to not have to make a vampire trip to the hospital that night, but we have been taking extra precautions to avoid illness. Now I need to get him to eat more foods that will help boost those red cells. Between not feeling like eating and being an extremely picky eater, he hasn't eaten nearly enough lately. I am going to start hiding the nutrients in the food he will eat. I will let you know how that goes! LOL
